As some of you may know, I have been a user on the Wings of Fire Wiki for quite some time, and an observer for even longer.
Over the course of this year, I have observed quite a lot of changes made by adminstration on that wiki that I would not support here. This has led to me reflect a bit on how I administrate this place.
Our earlier users (pre-2018) will remember a time when I was more involved in actively editing and improving the Wiki. Most of that was part of my "Wiki Cleanup Project", which resulted in the Wiki you see today.
However, since the completion of that project and the realisation that not all of it was achievable, I have changed my approach to administrating this Wiki. Rather than actively changing things, I prefer to simply act as an umpire and manage the daily going-ons.
Up to this point, I have acted almost entirely autonomously. Watching what is happening on the Wings of Fire Wiki has spurred me to consider whether or not this is still the best approach.
We do have a small userbase here, and while we count down to the Wiki's inevitable demise with the completion of The Unwanteds series (which I will address at a later date), I would like for you, the users of the Wiki, to have your say and some input into the direction we go in (if you like).
What do you want me to do? Is there anything you would have me change? Is this a good environment? Do you feel like the Wiki is running smoothly? Are there areas of neglect? Have you seen anything you would change, were you in my position? Are you happy with my approach to adminstration?
This is completely open and I promise not to be offended by any suggestion. I'm interested to see what the community has to say about my approach and how best I/we can respond.
