Claire was the music teacher in Artimé. She was the daughter of Marcus Today, and was part of the reason that Artimé was created. Originally, she was planned to take over as head mage of Artimé; however, she repeatedly refused to take the job.
She is not to be confused with the boat named after her.
Personality
Ms. Morning is kind, but not afraid to do what needs to be done, even suggesting wiping Quill out completely when they become even a slight threat. She is organized and a good leader, even if she doesn't want that kind of responsibility.
Appearance
Ms. Morning is a tall woman[2] with long, honey-blond hair[2][3][4] and a warm complexion.[2]

History
Claire was born and raised in Quill, though her father, Marcus, wasn't very present in her childhood. She was childhood friends with Liam Healy. The two were Purged 24 years before the first book, though she was declared Unwanted and he was declared Wanted.
Claire was the reason why Marcus Today started saving the Unwanteds and opening Artimé to them.[5]
Relationships
Marcus Today
Marcus and Claire have a very close father-daughter relationship. While he wasn't around much during her childhood, he created the magical world of Artimé as a place to save Unwanteds because he didn't want to kill her. She is one of his closest advisors, and while she repeatedly refuses to take on the head mage role from him, she is willing to help take on some of the work so he can take a break.
Alex Stowe
Aaron Stowe
Claire keeps her distance from Aaron when he first joins Artimé's side.[6] The two struggle to talk to each other, and Aaron knows that if something happened to Alex and he became head mage, Claire would be his biggest obstacle. However, she acknowledges that he can't do anything to save Marcus now, and doesn't wish death upon him.[7] She says that he's proven himself as a friend of Artimé and offers him spell components, showing how much she trusts him.[8]
Meghan Ranger
Meghan and Claire are close, with Claire being her main and favorite instructor. Meghan takes after her in a lot of ways, and the two work together well.
Gunnar Haluki
Liam Healy
Liam and Claire were childhood friends, though their relationship never recovered after Claire was Purged. She spent years thinking he might be different, but when he joins the Restorers' attacks against Artimé, she loses hope in him. He keeps her locked in a closet at Aaron's command. She tolerates his existence when he joins Artimé's side, but never fully forgives him for his actions.
